Earthquake in Sweden
Haha, we had a good laugh at the office when reading all about the confusion about the big earthquake in Stockholm the other day. "Was it an explosion?", "I woke up in the middle of the night", "I called the police and the couldn´t give me a straight answer. I am shocked!", "I feared for my life", "I thought my house was crumbling down", etc. People called the SOS Alarm in panic. The best comments "You've heard so much about the climate change and the global warming. It would be really scary if we are having earthquakes in Sweden too in the future thanks to that." (SvD, May 25th.). Yes, I can see the clear connection between global warming and earthquakes. "I hope the next one in Stockholm won't be more than Richter 8". Actually, me too. =)
The quake was a Richter 2...
When I checked yesterday, in the whole Japan, we've had 12 earthquakes Richter 2 (on surface) or above the last 14 days. In total 50 earthquakes were measured during the same period, Richter 1-4 (surface) or Richter 2.2-4.7 (epicentrum).
Last night there was a Richter 6.2 in Java, Indonesia. 440 killed. There's less written in Swedish newspaper about that earthquake than the one in Sweden...
